Drawer partitions for tools and small parts
A divider splits a drawer or a cabinet into fixed compartments, so tools and parts stay where they were put when the drawer opens and closes. That cuts searching and stops sharp tools rubbing against each other.
There are two basic forms. Cross partitions divide the drawer across its width, longitudinal partitions run with the drawer and make narrow lanes for spanners, bits and measuring tools. Combining the two builds a grid that matches what is actually in there.
Watch the depth of the drawer when you choose, because a partition has to be tall enough to hold the contents back and low enough to let the drawer close. Versions for drawers 60 and 130 mm deep cover the most common workshop cabinets and mobile cases. Measure the internal dimension of the drawer as well, not the external size of the unit.
For open storage above the bench, work on with a shelf tray or a tool hook.
